Brooks Bowman - Director    

The CHS Jazz program is co-directed by Brooks Bowman and Toby Rath. All groups consist of the same basic instrumentation of alto sax, tenor sax, bari sax, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, guitar, drums, and auxilliary percussion. The 9th grade jazz band is directed by Brooks Bowman. The Advanced Jazz Band is split into 2 sections. The Red Jazz Band is directed by Brooks Bowman and the White Jazz Band is directed by Toby Rath. The Jazz groups perform 3 main concerts per year, but perform actively in the community when the opportunity arises. The CHS Jazz Program is one of the top jazz programs in the state. Many of our students audition for, and are accepted into the SD All State Jazz Band year after year!
